Our purpose

Future Human Incorporated is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. Our mission is to educate the public about artificial intelligence โ€” its technology, its societal implications and necessities, and its ethical questions โ€” and about scenarios for positive long-term human futures; and to conduct, support, and publish research in these areas, making the results freely available to the public.

Our approach

We are education-first: we try to explain clearly, represent serious disagreements fairly, and give readers enough grounding to reach their own conclusions. We write for curious non-specialists as much as for experts.

Who we are

Future Human is a small nonprofit organization.

Ryan Hogan

Ryan Hogan is a strategic foresight analyst with a decade of experience helping Fortune 500 companies and multinational organizations think clearly about the opportunities and challenges ahead. His work centers on trend analysis, horizon scanning, scenario planning, and workshop facilitation โ€” translating complex signals into actionable insight for clients across technology, publishing, transportation, insurance, financial services, and hospitality. At Future Human, he brings that practice of disciplined, multi-scenario thinking to questions about artificial intelligence and the long-term human future.

Micah Redding

Micah Redding writes and lectures on the history, philosophy, and ethics of contemporary movements in human enhancement, artificial intelligence, and genetic engineering. Over the past several years he has done extensive public teaching in these areas, regularly leads studies of contemporary authors and thinkers, and has developed a particular passion for teaching the history of the scientific revolution.
